This family favorite is always a must at our annual New Years Breakfast! It's also been known to show up at bridal and baby shower brunches too!
Serves/Makes: 6
Ingredients:
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c butter or margarine
2 tbsp light corn syrup
1 c chopped pecans
8 slices Texas Toast (extra-thick sliced white bread), crusts removed
6 eggs
1 1/2 c milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Directions:
Combine first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan. Stir over low heat until melted and smooth.
Pour into a lightly greased 13x9 inch pan.
Sprinkle with pecans.
Top with bread.
Combine remaining ingredients and pour over top.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Bake uncovered at 350 F for 45 to 50 minutes.
Cut into squares and serve nut side up.
Only use half of the ingredients for the sauce. it makes way too much.
